(A-10) WINNERS OF THE MYSTERY BIRD CONTEST!

Congratulations to the three birders who guessed the MYSTERY BIRD, which is a juvenile Black-crowned Night Heron. They are:

*Charles Crawford

*Hallie Mason

*Gene Morton

According to Gene Morton, there is too much light color on the lower mandible for it to be a Yellow-crowned. Several birders guessed the Yellow-crowned Night Heron.

Scroll down to POST "A-8 MYSTERY BIRD CONTEST. WHAT IS IT?" to view the video.

According to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, our MYSTERY BIRD has a range that spans five continents, including much of North America, the Black-crowned Night-Heron is the most widespread heron in the world. It is most active at dusk and at night, feeding in the same areas that other heron species frequent during the day.
